I may be there in the same session in 2013, we are thinking of Sue Rasmussen. Freddie is also teaching a collage class at The Stitchin' Post in Sisters, OR. this year as well. You still need to have a good machine tech on your side. That said, I am not a fan of the TOL (top of the line) machines in general. They are gorgeous candy, but they come with way more features than most of us need, and a much bigger price tag than is wise or reasonable. Most quilters find they need two machines...one suited to piecing and one suited to free motion quilting. So you need to explore your options carefully.WesternWilsonhttp://greenwich-8.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-684855045887128146.post-6766937048948108892011-08-24T17:38:09.275-07:002011-08-24T17:38:09.275-07:00Short answer is yes, you can buy machines used and...Short answer is yes, you can buy machines used and online. If you have a good machine tech in your area (I have access to Vancouver, BC's fabulous Eurotech Sewing Machine Repair!) you can buy used with confidence, knowing you have someone to fix and maintain your new baby.WesternWilsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12765821422247317378noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-684855045887128146.post-53959771676408914132011-08-12T15:24:41.621-07:002011-08-12T15:24:41.621-07:00Your blog is great Robin, and I now have a link to...Your blog is great Robin, and I now have a link to yours in the Quilting Journeys links section!WesternWilsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12765821422247317378noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-684855045887128146.post-24064788160155542742011-08-08T10:48:29.256-07:002011-08-08T10:48:29.256-07:00What a fabulous gift idea! Because I don't have access to large, really well stocked fabric stores, I used charm packs to preview lines, then order the ones I think will work best for me in any given project. The charm pack then goes into the scrap basket (children love to plunder the scrap basket!). Charm packs are nicely tamed by putting them in projects with a well chosen solid.WesternWilsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12765821422247317378noreply@blogger.com
